1. SUMMARY
Seismic prospecting was carried out by MTA as a part of the Surveying Works on the Aliağa Thermal Power Station Project. Seismic refraction method was applied along two profiles with lengths of 800 m and 500 m.
There layers were differentiated from the analysis of seismic refraction data by the interpretation method known as "The Method of Differences".
The first layer with the seismic velocity of 200 m/sec-300 m/sec was correlated with the weathering zone. The second and third layers, with velocities of 1300 m/sec-2000 m/sec and 2150 m/sec-2400 m/sec respectively, were both correlated with agglomerates and tuffs.
