ABSTRACT
        In this work, cordierite bodies are produced by preparing several compositions using various domestic raw materials, shaping them by pressing, extrusion and slip casting, and firing them at temperatures betveen 1300°- 1400°C.
        Following properties of these bodies are determined; water absorption, total shrinkage, bulk density, modulus of rupture, phase identification by XRD, thermal expansion coefficient by dilatometry and thermal shock resistance.
        The test results are compared with those of previous works in Literatüre and it is concluded that electrical and refractory cordierite bodies can be produced by utilization of domestic raw materials.
