ABSTRACT
        This report is devoted to the investigation of gravimetric and magnetit beneficiation studies on tailings of Kef chromite consantrator which is located near Guleman in eastern Anotolia.
        According to the minerological and chemical analysis, the representative samples from Kef tailings, contains 28.84 % Cr₂O₃ olivine and serpentine as the major gang minerals with small amount of hearlawoodit and hematite.
        Liberation size of samples, determined with various methods is found to be minus 48 mesh.
        The gravimetric beneficiation studies indicated that a concentrate containing 45.16 % Cr₂O₃ with 55.40 % recovery and a tailing containing 9.95 % Cr₂O₃ with 7.93 % recovery could be obtained.
        From dry magnetic separation studies it was determined that a concentrate of 44.91 % Cr₂O₃ grade with 76.29 % recovery and a tailing of 4.57 % Cr₂O₃ grade with 4.99 recovery could also be obtained. Slime fraction containing 28.0 % Cr₂O₃ with 18.72 % recovery were discarded before beneficiation studies.
